This guide provides step-by-step instructions for Hospital Administrators to configure master data settings, including Consultation Types, Specializations, Wards & Beds, Laboratory Catalogs, and Billing Tax Tariffs in Medzit NexHealth HMS (/settings).

🩺 1. Setting Up Consultation Types

Define different appointment consultation channels and default pricing:

1. Go to Settings -> Consultation Types (/settings/consultation-types).
2. Click + Add Consultation Type.
3. Fill out the master form:

👨‍⚕️ 2. Managing Doctor Specializations & Departments

Configure medical specialties for doctor filtering and appointment scheduling:

1. Go to Settings -> Specializations (/settings/specialties).
2. Click + Add Speciality.
3. Enter Details:
   • Speciality Name: Cardiology / Intervention Cardiology
   • Department Code: DEPT-CARD
   • Assigned Floor: Building B - 2nd Floor
   • Attending Head of Dept: Dr. Justin Case

🛏️ 3. Configuring Wards, Rooms, and Bed Master (IPD)

Set up inpatient bed inventory and daily room charges:

1. Go to Settings -> Wards & Beds (/settings/wards).
2. Click + Add Ward / Room.
3. Enter Ward Category:
   • General Ward: Multi-bed ward ($30/day)
   • Semi-Private Room: 2-bed room ($75/day)
   • Deluxe Private Suite: Single AC room ($150/day)
   • ICU / CCU Unit: Intensive Care Bed ($250/day)
4. Assign Bed Numbers (e.g., BED-ICU-01, BED-ICU-02).

🔬 4. Laboratory & Radiology Test Catalog Setup

Configure pathology test parameters and normal reference ranges:

1. Go to Settings -> Laboratory Masters (/settings/lab-tests).
2. Click + Add Lab Test.
3. Enter Parameters:
   • Test Name: Complete Blood Count (CBC)
   • Category: Haematology
   • Price: $20.00 / ₹350
   • Sample Required: Whole Blood (EDTA Tube)
   • Normal Reference Ranges:
     • Hemoglobin: 13.5 - 17.5 g/dL (Male), 12.0 - 15.5 g/dL (Female)
     • WBC Count: 4,500 - 11,000 /mcL

💳 5. Billing Tariffs & Tax Master Setup

Configure cashier invoice tax rules, registration fees, and discounts:

1. Go to Settings -> Billing & Taxes (/settings/billing).
2. Set OPD Registration Fee: $10.00 / ₹100 (valid for 1 year).
3. Set GST Tax Slabs:
   • Medicines / Pharmacy: 12% GST
   • Room Rent (> ₹5000/day): 5% GST
   • Doctor Consultation: Exempt (0%)
4. Set Authorized Admin Discount Limits: Maximum 15% discount without Super Admin approval.
